What is Christian Educators Association Int
Our mission is "To Encourage, Equip and Empower Educators according to Biblical Principles." We are the only professional association for Christians who are called to serve in public schools. Our members have served the youth of America since 1953 through classroom teachers, administrators, and para-professionals in education.

CEAI is a non-profit religious association with a Membership Service Center in Westlake, Ohio. Our support is through memberships, tax-deductible donations and grants. CEAI membership consists of teachers, administrators, para-professionals including any person hired by a school district. In addition, we offer associate membership to parents, pastors, school board members, youth leaders and others concerned or interested in the education of our children.

TEACHERS OF VISION

A Publication of Christian Educators Association International
Editorial Director - Forrest Turpen; Managing Editor - Denise Trippett

Writer's Guidelines

TEACHERS OF VISION, is a magazine for Christian educators in public and private education. Its articles inspire, inform and equip teachers and administrators in the educational arena. In the words of Forrest Turpen, chief operating officer of CEAI, "It is an extended faculty room, a place of refreshment, dialogue, encouragement and guidance." The guidance often deals with the legality of living out one’s faith in the workplace.

Our Readers

TEACHERS OF VISION is a membership and limited subscription publication. Readers look for educational articles that inspire and provide practical ideas they can use in their profession. Our audience is primarily public school educators.

Our Writers

Our writers are:

Able to integrate secular and spiritual insights

Faithful to the teachings of Scripture

Up-to-date on trends in contemporary education

Our Editorial Needs

We invite writers to submit the following types of manuscripts:

Feature articles between 1000 - 2500 words, dealing with specific issues of interest to Christian educators. These may be written as how-to articles, personal experience pieces, educational philosophy, methodology, or documented reports.

Mini-features between 400-750 words that: highlight a holiday or special event and its classroom relevance; describe a successful teaching technique; or update readers on newsworthy happenings in education; or share an inspirational personal experience.

When you submit manuscripts, remember:

  • Include your e-mail address, telephone number and permanent address.
  • Include a 2-3 sentence byline with your article (we may also request a color photo if your work is accepted for publication).
  • Due to limited staff, it may take several weeks to respond to your submission. You are welcome to inquire about the status of your manuscript after four weeks.
  • We cannot guarantee your article will be accepted.
  • We reserve the right to edit material for length and content.
  • We maintain the right to reprint your article in other CEAI publications and CEAI's website.
  • We accept previously published articles, provided you inform us of where the article appeared and verify ownership of reprint rights.
  • You are welcome to query us with article ideas to avoid submitting material we cannot use (send a brief description of the article, detailing its main points).
  • Seasonal material must be received at least four months in advance.
  • If you wish to have your manuscript returned, you must enclose a self- addressed, first-class stamped envelope.

If your article is accepted for submission, it may be several issues before final publication. We do appreciate your patience.

Keep in mind that our articles need a distinctively Christian viewpoint. However, please avoid even the appearance of preaching and cut all religious jargon! We need writers who are able to present topics naturally and who portray issues of faith as an integrated part of teaching.
